Overview
PrivateByte offers a straightforward 14-day refund policy on eligible services. This article explains what is refundable, what is not, and how to request a refund correctly.
Refund Eligibility
You may request a refund within 14 days of your purchase for the following service types:
- VPS hosting plans
- Dedicated servers (if not custom-built)
- Add-ons such as extra RAM, storage, or CPU upgrades
- Licences billed through PrivateByte (unless otherwise stated)
Refunds are issued back to the original payment method unless you request account credit.
Non-Refundable Items
| Item | Refundable? | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Domain registrations & renewals | ❌ No | ICANN rules make domain purchases final |
| SSL certificates | ❌ No | Instant provisioning and validation |
| Custom services or manual server deployments | ❌ No | Labour and setup time cannot be reversed |
| Abuse-suspended services | ❌ No | Violations void the refund guarantee |
| Crypto payments | ⚠️ Account credit only | Price volatility restricts cash refunds |
